Photographs from Zimbabwe 2007
In 2007 I spent 6 weeks at the Painted Dog Conservation project (PDC) near Hwange National Park, tracking and sketching African Wild Dogs and learning about the community and educational aspects of the PDC project.

This dog wears a collar to allow PDC to track her but the collar also has a metal front plate. If the dog is caught in a snare, the prongs will catch the wire, preventing it from cutting into the dog's throat. Snares are a big problem for dogs who leave the national park. No poacher purposefully catches a dog but many are caught accidentally. Why the dogs spend so much time outside the safety of the national park is the subject of research currently being conducted at PDC. -Botswana Photographs Photographs of Botswana - Photographs from Zimbabwe 2007In 2007 I spent 6 weeks at the Painted Dog Conservation project (PDC) near Hwange National Park, tracking and sketching African Wild Dogs and learning about the community and educational aspects of the PDC project.
