Conservation Expeditions

In 2007, I received a Fellowship Grant from Artists For Conservation to conduct a Flag Expedition. My expedition was titled "Painting the Painted Dogs" and I arranged a 6 week visit to the Painted Dog Conservation Project (PDC) in Zimbabwe where I spent time tracking and sketching highly endangered African Wild Dogs. PDC has created fantastic community projects and educational facilities and is also an employer of many local people. My visit there (which I hope to repeat) has inspired the creation of a second project - "Drawing upon Community" in which I will visit the African People & Wildlife Fund in Tanzania. Please click the images below for more information about each expedition.
