Conservation Expeditions |
| In 2007, I received a Fellowship Grant from
Artists For Conservation to conduct their 5th Flag Expedition. I planned a 6-week visit to the
Painted Dog Conservation Project in Zimbabwe where I spent time tracking & sketching African Wild
Dogs while also learning about PDC's varied community projects. My visit inspired the creation of my Conservation Expeditions Program, in which I visit African conservation projects, create an expedition sketch journal, see all facets of the project, learn about conservation issues in the area and, on my return to the US, use exhibitions and lectures to raise awareness and funds for the project. In July 2011 I embarked on my 2nd Conservation Expedition, to the African People & Wildlife Fund in Tanzania. Please click the images below to see details of each expedition. |
